Unofficial Dark Heresy Soundtrack

Post by C.J. on Fri Apr 02, 2010 6:01 pm

Putting together a Dark Heresy campaign of my own and have spent most of the day penning the scenario. Horrifically stoned and tripping my nuts off on this stuff, I figured I'd make my own unofficial sound track that captures the 'mood' but also tells the story of each scene, as a sort of chronological audio teaser. Just for lols.

C.J. recommends the .pls file, a dark room and some headphones.

Download .zip (65mb)

Its a private server, so it might slow up if its getting raped. Wink

Smile Nice. I'm only just listening through for the first time now, but I think my other half'll be very pleased. She's much more rock than I am (cardigans, tank-/vest-tops!)

I've been a fair fan of ... off-beat music to accompany the DH/40k stuff. Most specifically, when I read Mechanicum featuring a large portion of my Daft Punk/Chemical Brother's stuff (alongside the Total Annihilation soundtrack).

When the 'acolytes' of that story finally come face to face with the 'truth' in the cavern near the end of the story (set predominately on Mars), I was overjoyed to have this on throughout the most central/iconic culminating part of the story. Magnificent!

There's not much rock on there Razz Its mostly industrial electronica and synth beats mixed up with some real old fashioned 90's 'emo shyte'. I resisted the urge to put any Nine Inch Nails on there tho, stuck on the Clock Dva track instead. I think it captures a certain Chaotic paradigm quite well. Hehe. Mainly you know, cos if you remember the mid to late 90's underground scene, the whole hedonism and drugs thing really fits with the 40k 'dark future' vibe.

I'm working on an ambient/techno follow up, but I am wary of just reproducing the Matrix soundtrack init. Mood music.

I wish I had bothered to crossfade it now, oh well. Its normalised tho.

I can't do yuff' tube on this shitty mobile 3g robber-band, but I'll check that vid out when I get home mate. thumb

PS: The Transmeta track is supposed to make your ears bleed.
